Today (tonight, or tomorrow — depending on where you live & who you ask) is the Equinox, so get ready to see a bajillion posts about ‘balance’.

Here is the lie: That balance is something you ‘achieve’.

Built from this lie: That balance is static.

If you want to live your life in balance, you must become both deeply sensitive & deeply responsive.

If you want to live your life in balance, you must fall in love with falling.

If you want to live your life in balance, you must be more devoted to right relationship with reality than control.

Because here is the truth: Moments of balance are fleeting, and stitching together a life built of moments of balance is an act of endless consistent adjustment, both within & without yourself.

Let go of any idea of ‘balance’ you have & stand on one foot for the next 5 minutes.

Now describe to me, in detail, the multitude of minute shifts required in nearly every moment — in all the bones of your foot, leg, pelvis, spine, as well as breath, and mind — to stay in balance.

Try this on a high balance beam; on a tippy rock in a creek; on the branch of a tree 20 feet up.

Now go live your life with that kind of sensitivity & responsiveness.

Fall in love with a lifetime of micro-adjustments towards attunement & you will fall in love with (your) Life.

With Love,
Kendra
