I am one of the few entrepreneurs I know who has never hit burnout.

Never.

I think this is because, waaaay back when, before I was ‘successful’, I put spaciousness & devotion front & center.

And I never let spaciousness or devotion be anywhere but front & center. Ever.

I was always willing to give up money, clients, opportunity, fame, or success for the depth of spaciousness & devotion in my life that I desire.

I have always been willing to pivot, or let go, or step back, when keeping on in the same way would have led to burnout.

In this way I have created a successful business while also being a mom of two (for years a solo mama), caring for an elder in my family, tending my intimate relationship, and growing a garden.

Oh, and buying & stewarding land.

I ‘have it all’ because I never tried to do it all.

Which is not to say I didn’t work hard, or have periods of strong focus.

One of the big lies that leads to burnout is that it’s (either) all hustle, or all flow.

Nothing I offer is an all-or-nothing, either/or framework.  In this house, we’re all about nuance, baby!

Most people teaching some kind of ‘success without burnout’ are running their business on the back of ‘success’ built through….burnout.

The email list & social following they can now pitch their non-burnout strategies to?

Built through non-aligned hustle.

The money that makes them feel safe enough to relax?

Earned through pushing themselves to burnout.

I’m not saying what they teach is wrong or bad.

I’m just saying: Don’t judge yourself for not getting the same results when they’re not being honest about the starting line.

And, the truth is, living your life, building your business, offering your work, and tending to all the facets of what matters to you –  in alignment, every step of the way – without falling into the trap of ‘in order to’ is a whole different skillset than ‘only do what you love once you have enough money to pay people to do the work you don’t want to do’.
